What is the Miin Signature treatment?

It's a 5-step in-salon treatment designed for hair that's been weakened by chemical processing (colour, bleach, perm), heat styling, or environmental damage. This treatment repairs hair deeply — not just a surface coating, but actual rebuilding of strength and softness.

What sets the Miin Signature apart from a standard conditioning treatment is the depth of repair — all 5 steps happen in the salon, each targeting a different layer of the hair’s structure. Every treatment also includes a 4-week maintenance home care package to extend your results.

The 5 steps explained

All 5 steps are performed by your stylist in the salon, working the product through individual sections of your hair. The full process takes around 20–30 minutes.

1. Prep — A primer opens the hair cuticle so the repair agents in the following steps can actually get inside the strand, not just sit on the surface.
2. Internal repair — Keratin proteins are worked into the hair to fill the tiny gaps that form inside damaged strands — the gaps that make hair feel weak, dull, and prone to breakage.
3. Deep reconstruction — A targeted formula reinforces the most damaged zones of each strand. Especially important for hair that's been bleached or repeatedly coloured.
4. External repair — The cuticle is closed and sealed, locking in everything from the previous steps. This is what gives the immediate glossy, smooth finish you feel when you leave the salon.
5. Finishing seal — A final protective layer smooths the hair surface, locks in moisture, and maximises shine.

Included: 4-week maintenance home care package

Every Miin Signature treatment comes with a take-home booster kit — four individual vials containing silk and keratin proteins that top up the repair work done in the salon. Use one vial per week in place of your regular conditioner: massage into damp hair from mid-lengths to ends, leave for 5 minutes, rinse.

This is the reason results last up to five weeks instead of fading after the first wash. Each weekly application refreshes the repair work done in the salon — replenishing protein, smoothing the cuticle, and maintaining the shine and softness you left with. Most salon treatments don't include a home care component. Ours does, because the treatment isn't complete without it.

Who should get this treatment?

The Miin Signature is designed for hair with moderate to severe damage. If any of the following apply, this is the right treatment for you.

• Chemically processed hair — Colour, bleach, perm, or rebonding all weaken the internal structure. This treatment rebuilds what chemical processing takes away.
• Heat-damaged hair — Daily straightening, curling, or blow-drying at high temperatures weakens hair over time. The internal repair step specifically targets this kind of cumulative damage.
• Dry, brittle, or frizzy hair — If your hair feels rough, tangles easily, or breaks when brushed, it's likely lost internal density. The treatment restores moisture retention and elasticity.
• Post-colour or post-perm maintenance — Book the Miin Signature 1–2 weeks after a colour or perm service to restore condition while the chemical results are still fresh. Many of our clients at Orchard add it as a regular maintenance step.
• Pre-event prep — If you want your hair in its best possible condition for a photo shoot, wedding, or event, the Signature treatment gives an immediate visible improvement in shine and smoothness.

Miin Signature vs Miin Express: which to choose?

We offer two treatment tiers at Miin. Both include the 4-week maintenance home care package.

• 3 Step Miin Express — Our quick refresh treatment. A 3-step repair to restore shine and softness. Great as a regular maintenance treatment or add-on after colour or perms. From $100.
• 5 Step Miin Signature — The premium option. Adds the deep reconstruction step (step 3) which specifically targets severe and localised damage. Best for hair that's been heavily processed or hasn't had professional treatment in a while. From $200.

What to expect during your appointment

The in-salon portion of the Korean hair treatment takes around 20–30 minutes at our hair treatment salon in Orchard and works alongside your other services.

1. Assessment — Your stylist examines your hair's condition, identifies the most damaged zones, and selects the appropriate formula (fine or coarse hair variants are available).
2. 5-step application — All five steps are applied in sequence at the basin. Your stylist works each product through individual sections for thorough, even coverage.
3. Processing — The treatment sits for several minutes to allow full absorption. No heat is required.
4. Rinse and finish — The treatment is rinsed and your hair is styled as part of your service. The difference in texture and shine is immediately visible.
5. Take-home handover — Your stylist gives you the included 4-week maintenance home care package and explains how to use it.

How often should you get a treatment?

For best results, we recommend the Miin Signature every 4–6 weeks — roughly matching your regular colour, perm, or cut schedule. This creates a consistent repair cycle: salon treatment restores condition, weekly boosters maintain it for 4–5 weeks, then your next salon treatment picks up before the effect fully wears off.

If your hair is in good condition and you're maintaining it well, you might alternate between the 5-step Miin Signature and the lighter 3 Step Miin Express — Signature for deeper resets, Express for maintenance sessions.

Between treatments, use sulphate-free shampoo, minimise heat styling, and complete the full 4-week booster course. These simple steps make a significant difference in how long your results last.
